6-18-24 THOUGHTS
God’s majesty is our subject this morning. What an Awesome God we worship. He has made weakness strong and strength weakness as His design for wisdom and strength is opposite the way the world thinks. We see the sense of the infants/babes passage in 1Cor 1:27 “but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,” God has valued man above all other creation. He has given us rule over all. God cares for us. From yesterday... 2Pet 1:3-4 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Ps 8:1-9 O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! 2 From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease. 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, 8 The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!
My Prayer:
We see Your glory and majesty in all, O God, and we lift up your great name in praise and thanksgiving. There is no God but You. You’ve given us all things that are good for us. We are Your creation. Help us to live glorified lives in Your image. In compassionate humility, may we seek the lost and love our neighbor as ourselves. Help us to value each soul we meet, as we provide some eternal benefit to their souls. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Amen.
